FASHION & BEAUTY
I'm always a fan of healthy, smooth and manageable hair. Occasionally I do try out crazy hair colours, but truth be told, it can be a really tedious job tending to damaged and frizzy hair. Therefore, I'll always stick to hair colours that are more natural (which do not require bleaching) and always pamper my hair with treatments which are beneficial. #NaturalHairFTW
A few months back, I tried out some hair services from a hair salon in Sri Petaling for the first time after I came across their page on Instagram and Facebook. Here's a review of my experience at 90's Hairstyle in Sri Petaling.

Located along Jalan Radin Bagus 6, this spacious salon provides many chairs for customers to have their hair pampered in. They even have a photoshoot setup with studio lights at the end of the shop, as you can see from the photo above.

My stylist, Jason Wong was really courteous during the hair consultation. I told him that my hair now has dark roots, is a bit too long for my liking and a tad bit frizzy. I wanted to trim, dye and pamper my hair with treatment. He understood my concern and then began the hair colouring process.
After the colouring was done, Jason then explained to me the hair and scalp treatment that he will be doing for me. I told him that my scalp itches a lot especially at the region behind my neck, due to sweat, and sometimes it will get inflamed and rashes will appear. He introduced a specific scalp treatment which targets this problem, and then proceeded to apply and massage a type of tonic onto my scalp, which was immensely soothing.

Whereas for the hair, he introduced me to their signature JEMILE-FRAN in-salon hair treatment, which contains ingredients to effectively nourish and strengthen individual hair strands. During the treatment, the aromatic scent of Peony flower was very calming and relaxing.
After the pamper session of hair and scalp treatments, Jason then proceeded to trim my hair to shorten the length and reduce the 'heaviness'. #ThickHairProblems
I was really pleased with the results!!! As you can see, my hair is now so much more smoother, and even-toned. I also really like the feeling of my scalp "finally breathing again", after a long time.

FOLLOW ME AS I TAKE ON NEW COLOURS FOR THE SEASON
NUMBER76 at Jalan Telawi, Bangsar
I've always wanted colourful hair. My coursemates are aware of this wish of mine because I've asked them a zillion times what colour I should try out first. But being in dental school in a public university, I cannot just dye my hair any colour I want, plainly because... rules. I have rules to follow :') 'Dentists' and 'crazy hair' just don't go together. So, when the long-awaited semester break finally arrived, I went over to Number76 salon in Bangsar to have my hair coloured (like finally)
It was my first time bleaching so I decided to only get underlights, which is to only bleach dye the inner part of my hair. Gotta prepare myself to cover up the colours just in case it doesn't turn out as I expected. I have high hopes! I don't want the colours to disappoint :')
Enough of words. I'll let the photos do the talking now.
"SO EXCITED"
My hair condition before this ....
Getting my fringe trimmed...
I actually did a vlog about the whole process. Please kindly watch it would you? I've spent hours on Youtube tutorials learning how to edit videos in Final Cut Pro for this. Yes I'm lousy and pathetic like that :')
*big shoutout to Khe Sin for helping me in recording this vlog
I noticed that I missed out mentioning something in my vlog:
- Calvin the senior stylist didn't only bleach dye the inner parts, he also dyed my remaining hair brown because of the dark roots that have grown. They have grown over the past few months when I was at my busiest and didn't have the time to visit the salon for touch-ups :')
- I also did scalp and hair treatment. Milbon Plarmia scalp treatment and ultrasonic iron hair treatment to be exact. On a side note, Number 76 is having a new Milbon treatment starting 1st of July--- Plarmia Refining scalp and hair treatment. It's for both scalp and hair(duh, even the name says so). Introductory price of RM160 only (normal price RM200) so why not give it a try? And lemme know how it goes. Read my previous post on the scalp treatment I did in Number76 Mid Valley.
After 6 hours, my hair is done and I'm very happy with the outcome! Violette now haz violet (and blue) hair!!!
*One of the staff asked why did I choose to become a fighting fish. Hahaha...
It has already been two weeks but the colours have not fade yet. Amazing. Yet I secretly wished that it would fade faster so that I can try out other colours soon heheh. Semester break is only for 2 months. Gotta make full use of the time to try out as many colours as I can before cutting my hair short again :')
Have you ever bleach dyed your hair before? Did it turn out the way you wanted? Share with me about your experiences in the comments section below. Would love to hear your stories! (Suggest some colours/ new hair trends for me to try out too)

Hello again lovely people! Today, I'm gonna review Worthy Book: F&B and Ladies Edition 2015-2016.
If you haven't known already, Worthy Book is basically a book filled with tons of discount vouchers from over 120 brands all over Malaysia. There are two editions: the F&B edition and the Ladies edition. I'll be reviewing this book based on its content, design, convenience and price. My final verdict will be at the very end so do read on!
1. Content
For the F&B edition 2015-2016,
-180 F&B vouchers (worth over RM3000)
-Features 45 brands of restaurants and F&B franchises in Klang Valley and other states (e.g. 3 Little Pigs & The Big Bad Wolf, A Pie Thing, Brotzeit, Eggette Lab, Gelatomio, Morganfield’s, MyBurgerLab and many more)
-Comes with editor reviews, “Must Try” recommendations, outlet contact details, food pictures, opening hours, etc
-All vouchers valid until 30 September 2016
For the Ladies edition 2015-2016,
-160 discount vouchers (if you use all of them, you actually save more than RM20,000)
-Features popular shopping, beauty, fashion brands in Malaysia (e.g. Zalora, Body Shop, Xixili, Celebrity Fitness, f block, Ice Watch, Himalaya, TNS Skinlab and many more)
-Covers over 80 Shopping Malls
-All vouchers valid until 30 September 2016
Click the links below to view the full list of all available vouchers in these two editions:
F&B edition - http://www.worthybook.my/ebook1.php
Ladies edition - http://www.worthybook.my/Ladies/index.php
2. Design
The size of the book is (8.5'' x 6'') and it is not too bulky as well. It's able to fit snugly into my M&S sling bag, still leaving ample space for my wallet, phone and powerbank. Hence, I bring the Worthy Book F&B Edition everywhere I go because I'm constantly exploring and eating whenever I'm out and about.
My friends and I refer to the book as it kinda acts like a food guide for us to decide what we are going to eat next. Also, it's safe to keep the book around me anyway because my friends might suddenly decide to dine in a place where there are vouchers available and I will be upset if I cannot redeem those discounts or freebies if the book is not with me :(
I'm more of a foodie than a fashion addict so I'll usually keep the Worthy Book Ladies edition at home and only tear off the specific vouchers that I want for me to bring along in my wallet. It's fairly simple to tear off the vouchers as well because there are cut dotted lines.
3. Convenience
What I like about both editions is that they conveniently categorise every brand based on type, shopping mall or location so that the users can easily flip to the index to search for respective vouchers rather than rummaging through every page.
Take for example for the F&B edition, if I want to eat something Western, I shall flip to the index where it shows 'Western'; if I want something to snack on while in Mid Valley megamall, I shall flip to the index where it shows 'Mid Valley'; or, when I'm back in my hometown in Melaka, I shall just flip to the index where it shows 'Melaka' to view all the available vouchers that I can use there.
This makes it extremely easy for me because I do not like to waste time searching for vouchers when I'm hungry... With this considerate feature, it will not be of any hassle at all. Kudos to the Worthy Book editorial team for making it so easy for its users.
4. Price
Worthy Book F&B Edition : RM29.90
Worthy Book Ladies Edition : RM25.00
In my opinion, with a price like that, it is definitely value-for-money because the amount of discounts you can get will definitely be more than the price that you pay for the book.
I used the "buy second item at 50% off" and "RM10 voucher" for The Cocoa Trees and managed to save approximately RM22.00 on chocolates and jelly beans. Thankful that I got to do my Christmas shopping at lower prices :')
Received a free sundae (worth RM11) when I purchased The Wolf's Favourite at Pigs & Wolf, Pavilion.
For the ladies edition, I managed to save around RM95 by using two discount vouchers when I shopped at XIXILI! Much comforting :') (no pun intended)
In a nutshell, Worthy Book is definitely a must-buy if you want to save more on food and shopping. It has good content, a handy design and very convenient features. You don't even have to use all of the vouchers to get back your cost of the book.
Where to buy? All major bookstores.
Alternatively, you can also purchase online at : http://www.worthybook.sto.my/

Yay! I’m so happy to be able to tell you all about my wonderful experience with Number 76 Style salon yesterday. Thanks to Number76 Sue Ann who contacted me, I was invited to try out one of their hair/scalp treatment at their Mid Valley branch.
Kindly note that the salon is NOT located inside Mid Valley Megamall. At the mall, proceed to 1st Floor, North Court and cross the pedestrian bridge. Head left and take the escalator down, then walk towards your right. It is located inside North Point, Mid Valley City, a building across the road from Mid Valley Megamall.
Just follow the simple instructions above and you will find your way to the salon in no time (like me!)
Various hair services available here.
Once inside the salon, I was welcomed by the front desk lady. She was not in the photos below because she went into hiding when I wanted to take photos. How cute XD
Customer waiting area.
Number 76 Mid Valley branch has an underground secret society vibe to it. Grey cemented pillars and floors with transparent glass panels for daylight to light up the interior in addition to the fluorescent lights strategically-arranged on the ceiling. Shades of grey everywhere. Super like!
Before I continue, I just wanna tell you guys something random. I tend to scratch my scalp a lot especially when I’m asleep. (I know because I wake up to myself having those yucky grey stuff underneath my nails *ewww*) So, in order to prevent my nails from inflicting damage to my scalp, I will cut my nails short regularly so that when my rebellious fingers go up there to scratch, only the ends of my fingers will touch my scalp :’) #okayrandomstorytellingdonenowletscontinue
The consultation began with a thorough scalp-scan using a microscopic scanner(I think) and an iPad. Senior stylist Teddy scanned my scalp and told me that I have a rather healthy scalp except for the topmost of my head. According to him, hair loss is getting severe at the hair parting area and my scalp looks a bit yellowish probably due to improper shampoo-ing. It’s true. I tie my hair everyday for class, hence the tugging force might have caused hair loss. I tend to forget to wash the top area of my scalp too because I focus more on shampoo-ing my hair instead.
I was able to view my own scalp live on the iPad.
Teddy explained that those brownish round things are clogged pores due to excess sebum and dirt. He also pointed out the hair of different thickness. Most of my hair is relatively thick but there are a few strands of fine ones due to some narrow hair follicles. He recommended the Kérastase Acti-Base Scalp Treatment. I will tell you why later so read on! =P
After the scalp scan, I was passed over to Teddy’s assistant, Deven for the Tansan Sparkling Scalp Wash. With an additional fee of RM32, you can opt for this scalp wash to be added to your scalp treatment package. Tansan(or ‘碳酸’ in Mandrin/Japanese) is a simple scalp wash in which carbon dioxide is added to the water to remove excessive oil effectively without overdrying the scalp.
Hair wash area.
The blanket they provide is so soft and comfy.
Deven rinsed my hair and scalp for three times. Each time, he insisted on showing me the dirt that was washed out. According to him, the stuff being rinsed out for the first time are oil from my hair serum and other hair products; whereas for the second time, the CO2 water is able to rinse out oil and dirt from within the pores and unclog them.
After that, Deven used Kérastase Specifique Bain Stimuliste GL Energising Shampoo to wash my hair.
After the scalp wash, I can immediately feel my scalp being fresher! It’s similar to the refreshing feeling you get when you remove your makeup after a long day, as if your skin is able to ‘breathe’ again.
See the black thing on the table? My bagpack is actually inside it. Number76 team is so considerate that they provide a sack for your bags to prevent them from getting damaged by chemicals.
Next, Kérastase Specifique Acti-Base was applied to my scalp and massaged until it is absorbed. I could feel a cold sensation on my scalp.
This product helps to "open up" the hair follicles to aid in the growth of thicker hair. It is used to help stimulate the production of hair cells from the roots, growing thicker hair with wide hair follicle. Now you know why Teddy chose this scalp treatment for me.
This acti-base will be left on my hair for 5 minutes before rinsing it off. While waiting for time to pass, I couldn’t resist taking photos of this little boy whom Teddy was attending to. He is just sho cute!!!
If you haven’t known yet, children below 5 years old are able to cut their hair in Number76 salon for FREE! 6-12 years are entitled to 50% discount, while students aged 13-19 are entitled to 30% discount.
Not forgetting to mention, every customer is served with green tea and biscuit. Magazines will be placed on your table for you to read them if you want to.
Last but not least, the treatment was completed with this spray, which is a leave-in treatment to help maintaining hair thickness.
After blowing dry my hair, we did another scalp scan to see whether there is any improvement to my scalp condition.
No more clogged pores thanks to Tansan Sparkling Scalp Wash! But of course my baby hair can still be seen. The treatment will prevent the growth of new baby hair, not making existing ones grow thicker instantly (duh!)
The team even helped to set my hair in curls even though I only came to try out their scalp treatment. It was so nice of them I feel so pampered :’)
Kérastase Stimulating Acti-Base Scalp Treatment (RM212) +
Tansan Sparkling Scalp Wash (RM32 add-on)
For the full price list, do refer to the photo below.
For further information, you can visit their website at www.number76.com. And if you’re interested to make an appointment with them, you are able to do so on their website too!
Thank you once again Number76 salon for having me. Gotta thank Teddy and Deven too for attending to me and explaining in detail about how I should care for my scalp. A healthy scalp leads to healthy hair. I will definitely remember this!

Thank you once again Number76 salon for having me. Gotta thank Teddy and Deven too for attending to me and explaining in detail about how I should care for my scalp. A healthy scalp leads to healthy hair. I will definitely remember this!
